1999 - 2005
My name is Loukas Mainas, I am from Greece, living in Thessaloniki and ever since I remember myself I was always designing, fixing or creating something.
I have studied industrial design and have worked on projects like designing furniture using steel and items for every-day use mostly out of glass and bronze.
Since February 2012 I started working on restoration and styling of old bicycles. The inspiration came to me when I was riding the Peugeot bike that I had as a teenager ; I didn’t like its look because it was scratched with rust and had some broken parts….
So I decided to renovate and restyle it. I named it RENNAISANCE after it was finished. The result was a very beautiful bicycle that attracted a lot of attention and admiration from the people who saw it. After this positive reception to the project, I started looking for old bicycles to restore and restyle.
